Jamila Holman

Jamila Holman is from Bronx, NY and moved to Springfield, Ma at the age of 6. She began dancing shortly after, studying under the renowned Jazz choreographer Frank Hatchett’s principal dancer Ms. Kim Norrington and traveled to New York to train under countless choreographers at the Broadway Dance Center. By studying under Kim, she began teaching at 13. Her training varies in various styles of dance from ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and many more.

In 2003 she moved to New York and worked with Frank Hatchett. She was later featured in Hatchett’s “VOP” jazz instructional dance DVD.

In 2005, Jamila began professionally dancing for the New York Knicks, where she performed at the infamous Madison Square Garden. During her engagement as a Knicks City Dancer, she was chosen to travel to China to perform and she also participated in shows with John Legend, and Paul McCartney.  

Jamila later began to incorporate her love and experience of dance with the fitness world. Becoming certified through AFAA and creating workouts that fuses dance movements, great music, and muscle toning cardio. 

Currently, Jamila is touring with R&B artist Lisa Lisa formally from the popular 1980’s group Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam. As a choreographer and back-up dancer for Lisa Lisa, Jamila performs at nationwide arenas such as the Nokia Theater in California, Dolphins Arena in Miami, and Planet Hollywood Theatre in Las Vegas.
